Day 2 of Giving

My amazingly creative best friend Farrah is doing some awesome art projects this winter. She put out a call for any used book or magazines, and so I'm giving her my well read and loved ReadyMade Magazines. I've been collecting them since 2005 and they were my favorites ever. This may not seem like a big GIVE to some of you, but I can assure you I have moved these back and forth across the state and written notes to myself when I loaned them out. I loved these magazines! But I feel like Farrah will now be able to put them to better use. (And maybe I can borrow an article now and then). So maybe y'all can give an object that means something dear to your creative self to another creative soul. Give the Love!

Ouch!! I feel your pain! I have magazines that I keep saving for something I know will happen soon! I wish I could say my giving was as noble as yours! I simply supported two downtown, make that three with tonight, businesses - to the benefit of three individuals! I delivered GasPump Coffee to my pneumonia ridden partner; Spindle City's homemade Pineapple Cake to Bottle Shoppe owner Margaret Mauney, who in turn provided me with a delicious piece of homemade banana nut bread! (Instant Karma's gonna get you...). Lastly, I visited Freeman's Pub tonight to support an up and coming 15 year old musician prodigy. I remembered my prayer for someone; and, gave others plenty of hugs, kisses and positive words. In return, I received double over. Oh, and took free pictures all around. Day two complete.

I recently went to my friend's SoulCollage Workshop. She let me attend for free as I'd helped her with some marketing stuff (and finances are rough). I didn't feel right not giving her something, so I gave her a big piece of rose quartz that I loved: a practice of non-attachment. It felt good to give, but admit I had a pang about it. I told my daughter about how I let it go b/c it was more important for me to give than to hold onto it. Later that day my beauty came bounding up to me with hand extended: a beautiful piece of rose quartz. It was hers, but she wanted me to have it. Yes, let go and everything comes to us with greater grandeur.
