Watercolor with Sunshine

My best collaborator ever is Ms. Alabama Sunshine...she loves to paint and draw as much as I do. Every time I go in the studio, she sets her easel or table up too. I never really work with watercolors, so to get away from the 'blank page' syndrome , I'm playing in my art journal. It's so much less intimidating, no stress, no one ever has to see it, and if I don't like it, I can cover it up. I really like the luscious colors and the sheer to opaque-ness I can create with them. But I'm still having a pretty hard time getting a fine line, without the bleeding, and muddiness seems to bean issue if I'm not super careful. Any tips would be super helpful!!!

Ah...embrace the bleeding/muddiness. It's part of what to love about watercoloring!! And I try not to cover up something...I see it as a symbol of my growth.

I'm trying to get past the 'lines' and make it process always, but somethings are hard to break...
