Beginning Mindfulness

This is the poster I have hanging in my studio right now. I feel like it helps me remember my alignment and chakra soulfulness when I'm creating or doing yoga. Since I've started being more intense with my practice and my self-excavation I'm starting to really coming into me. It's been hard, realizing who I was and why I was that way, and who I am and who I will be. The inner chaos I feel sometimes is as painful as a wound, but I'm able to heal, fix, or cleanse it a lot faster now. The act of coming into my self is a terrifying, painful awkward and wonderful thing. I'm really glad that I started now instead of waiting any longer!

Undisturbed calmness of mind is attained by cultivating friendliness toward the happy, compassion for the unhappy, delight in the virtuous, and indifference toward the wicked. (The yoga sutras of Patanjali)

“Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built. ”  Rumi
